We are the best option renting a car in Veracruz

Veracruz is, like all great port cities, an unholy mélange of grime, romance and melted-down cultures. Conceived in 1519, this is Mexico's oldest European-founded settlement, but, usurped by the subsequent inland cities, it's neither its most historic, nor its most visually striking. Countless sackings by the French, Spanish and North Americans have siphoned off the prettiest buildings, leaving a motley patchwork of working docks and questionable hybrid architecture, punctuated by the odd stray colonial masterpiece. But Veracruz' beauty is in its grit rather than its grandiosity. A carefree spirit reigns in the main square the "zocalo" most evenings, where the primary preoccupation is who to cajole into a "danzón" (traditional couples dance).

Drive to Xalapa, the state capital, the cobblestone streets are full of music, color and folklore, or drive to Tlacotalpan, a town that lies along the Papaloapan River, you can enjoy its wonderful Historic Center, which was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. There you can witness the town's famous "Virgen de la Candelaria procesion".

Along the coast you can visit the Costa Esmeralda, a 50-km (31-mi) beach strip north of the port. Finally, if you'd like to see some ruins, there's no better place than the archaeological zone of "El Tajin", which also was declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
